Unlike these days it is being used mostly as a musical instrument and the kind of music played best, will depend on the model of musical instrument that is being used. Trumpets are quite classified on different perspectives.
Historic background
In every manner and evolution of civilization, trumpets have endorsed a very strong and essential role in the coexistence of mankind. The discovery of some of these legendary devices was first recognized in Egypt and other versions believed to be very ancient were found in China and South America. But then before the silver and bronze discovery, it is also believed that many years ago, many people used various forms of objects which could transform a simply blown air into different kinds of sounds. These sounds had religious and military meanings which could only be translated by those who were belonging to that particular community or kingdom.
At this time of setting, around the period of 1500BC, these trumpets were very simple and not complex compared to the trumpets that are in existence. They had no valves and therefore they could not enhance different tones and notes and to do that, one had to change the pipes fixed on the horns. Due to its low production of notes and minimal sounds, it slowly got subjected to resurgence and its popularity and known functions went down the drain. But as matter of fact, it is important to note that the first trumpet on earth originated from objects which were blown to produce melodious sounds. These objects included bamboo sticks, animal horns which were the most commonly used and animal bones.
Components of a trumpet
These are brass instruments which have cylindrical bores, mouth piece, valves and hand grip. The cylindrical bores are designed to actually influence the production of sound which is later made fully chromatic by the valves located in between the cup mouth piece and the cupped exit. Some of the trumpets are usually made with more than four valves to enhance different kind of intonation and sound production.
The properties of sound
As a matter of fact, trumpets can produce different sounds depending on the models. The kind of model that is used may exhibit different features which will contribute to the kind of vibration that will be produced at the end. How chromatic it will be, also has certain factors like how strongly the performer will blow the mouth piece and how effective the vibrations on his lips will be appropriately enhanced. Therefore, it is very important to recognize the importance of trumpets and the influence they have induced to the history of human coexistence.
