How Can One Experience Wellness?

When a person has a high level of wellness, they have a generally optimistic and hopeful outlook on life. They often feel energetic, excited about taking on new challenges, and ready to give their best effort toward the task at hand.

As one experiences wellness, one may start to notice an increase in physical energy as well as stronger cognitive function. In addition to feeling more physically capable, they may have an increased ability to notice details and develop new ideas.

People who are experiencing wellness feel good about themselves despite their current circumstances. They feel encouraged by the potential of their future, even with whatever challenges or setbacks they may be facing right now. While not every person with high wellness will have a perfect life, they will have a sense that it is worth living.

Wellness is not something that can be directly measured on a test or by someone else. It is instead an individual experience, unique for each person.

Those who are experiencing wellness may recognize some of the following benefits:
-joints/muscles don’t hurt as often
-mental fatigue decreases over time or after rest
-feeling good about their body image overall
-more interest in new challenges and opportunities (not just sticking with what’s comfortable)
-an increased ability to focus on mental tasks over time (including longer attention span during lectures or meetings)
-“outsider” perception that they are more capable than they may actually be
-increased level of excitement over new activities or opportunities, even if these are challenging (like public speaking)
-feeling like life has more meaning

While wellness can manifest itself in many different ways for each individual, it is always present when a person experiences all of the above. If you want to experience wellness yourself, try pinpointing what makes you excited about your future and start taking steps toward that goal—tackle challenges head-on. Consider trying something new that may be out of your comfort zone. And remember that these small wins will build up into something greater over time!

There is no one way to experience wellness. For some people, being healthy means being physically fit. Others may be more focused on mental wellness, while for others, it may mean that they have a job they enjoy and a supportive family. Regardless of which form of wellness is most important to you, the steps toward experiencing a higher level of wellness will likely include strengthening your ability to focus and being open to new experiences or challenges. Using this approach means you will have more energy, feel less stressed, and be able to perform at your peak in everything you do.
